Bronze Sox Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Supernovas
The Texas Bronze Sox beat the Scranton Supernovas, 6-5 at Bronze Sox Park, in part due to shortstop Chris Fitzgerald, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Supernovas fall to 8-10 and continue to sputter in the early going.

The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Texas trailing 5-3, Fitzgerald hit a fastball from Butch Cummings for a 3-run home run, giving the Bronze Sox the walk-off win.

"We played hard and won," said Fitzgerald. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
