Late Rally by Belugas Secures Win
|
Eikki Kankaanperä helped his team muscle past the Port Royal Disaster, 6-5. In the game, the Brinkley center fielder was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Brinkley reliever Pedro Huerta got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Maurice Hilliard was tagged with the loss. The win pushes Brinkley to a record of 8-9.
Stephen Goldobenko tagged a home run off Maurice Hilliard in the bottom of the eighth. His solo blast put the Belugas on top, 6-5. In all, Goldobenko had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Kankaanperä said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
