Late Rally by Fur Traders Secures Win
|
Phoenix Hotspur left fielder Peer Kattenberg was sensational. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Tacoma beat the Youth, 8-5. Kattenberg was named the player of the game despite the loss. Getting the save was Ronald Wolfe, his 3rd. Tacoma has a record of 4-3.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Sherman Hoffman came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Phoenix Hotspur pitcher José Vásquez, he hit a first pitch forkball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Tacoma on top, 6-5.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Hoffman said after the game.
