Farmers Rally For Late Win Over Blue Sox
|
Fans who gathered at Blue Sox Ballpark saw a good contest between the Lancaster Farmers and Irving Blue Sox.
The Lancaster Farmers took Irving pitcher Ken French's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Blue Sox Ballpark. The final score had Lancaster getting past the Blue Sox, 4-2. French went 7.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run, striking out 10. Lancaster reliever Carlos González picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ken French took the loss. Nino Ghannam picked up the save for Lancaster, his 1st of the year.
Lancaster used the clutch hitting of Cord Hosenbeck to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Farmers the lead, 4-2. For the game, Hosenbeck had 1 single and 1 double in 2 at-bats.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Lancaster manager Luis Barroco.
The win lifts Lancaster to a record of 2-2.
