Victory Pushes Belugas Record to 6-5
|
Brinkley Belugas starter Jordan Guérin pitched a strong game against the Scranton Supernovas at Belugas Ballpark, leading the Belugas to a 3-2 win. Guérin, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 2 earned runs. Wu-ti Xuan earned his 2nd save in 2 tries.
Stephen Goldobenko had a big 2-run single for the Belugas in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Brinkley leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Kent Horton and stroked the single to right. It was his 7th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Belugas ahead, 3-0.
"We did enough to win," said Guérin.
Brinkley is now 6-5.
