Nobles Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The Bakersfield Nobles bested the Bloomington Longnecks, 8-3, at Lookouts Ballpark. John Ennis was named player of the game. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Pedro Herrera got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits in 6 innings. At 6-3, the Nobles have played well so far.
Bakersfield used a timely hit from Juan Alvarado to get the win. The shortstop delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the fourth inning to put the Nobles on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Ennis.
