The Port Royal Disaster and Texas Bronze Sox brought some excitement to Ballpark of Port Royal.
The Texas Bronze Sox beat the Port Royal Disaster, 8-2, at Ballpark of Port Royal. The Bronze Sox got a fine performance from second baseman Barney Heise, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win gives Texas a record of 4-5.
Texas used the timely hitting of Mareka Naidoo to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put the Bronze Sox on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Naidoo said. "We did a good job of that today."
