Highlanders Come Back Late to Top Nationals
|
The Asheville Highlanders topped the Ottawa Nationals, 7-5, in M3L Double A action at Nationals Park. The player of the game was Asheville pitcher and Brooklyn, New York native Alberto Ortíz. Mario Sánchez locked down his 2nd save. At 2-1, the Highlanders have played well so far.
Asheville used the timely hitting of Tae-wan Park to capture the win. The center fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Highlanders ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Ortíz. "Just do my job."
