Salt Lake City catcher Manyara Akintola played a vital role in his team's 5-1 triumph over Florida. He went 2-3 with 2 home runs for Salt Lake City. Paco Manuel, credited with the win, is now 4-6. He allowed 1 run on 9 hits in 7.1 innings. Chris Holmes earned the save for Salt Lake City, his 13th.
Salt Lake City took a 1-0 lead on Akintola's 4th home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Oscar Kenselaar in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Salt Lake City to the win.
