Racers Defeat Buzz, 3-1

The Indianapolis Racers took Salt Lake City pitcher Paco Manuel's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Spirits Stadium. The final score had Indianapolis getting past the Buzz, 3-1. Manuel went 8.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs, striking out 4. Mark Erwin was credited with the save for Indianapolis, his 4th of the season. Indianapolis now owns a record of 52-42.
Indianapolis used a timely hit from Ruby Rhod to get the win. The designated hitter delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the third inning to put the Racers on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Indianapolis manager Emílio Sáenz said.
