Timber Hawks Lose, 2-0, at Speedway Field
|
Indianapolis and Augusta duked it out at Speedway Field and the Racers came out victorious.
Indianapolis got a strong outing from Ricky McCauley as the Racers defeated the Augusta Timber Hawks, 2-0, at Speedway Field. In 8 innings, McCauley surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. He allowed no runs. Mark Erwin, credited with the save, is now 2 for 2 in save opportunities.
The Racers got a big at-bat from center fielder Roberto Vázquez. For the game, Vázquez went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Indianapolis a 2-0 lead.
"Ricky is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Indianapolis manager Emílio Sáenz.
Indianapolis now owns a record of 49-38.
