BC Get Close Win Over Fighting Dachsunds
|
With center fielder Mike Howard leading the charge, the Houston BC defeated the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 4-2, at Houston Park. Howard, who is tied for 2nd in the 3AAA in stolen bases with 21, went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Picking up the save was Júlio Rodríguez, his 10th. The 8th-place BC now have a win-loss record of 41-44.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Bailey Gribbins came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Ellenburg pitcher Pedro Ángel, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Houston on top, 3-2.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Gribbins told the Houston Today.
