Evergreens Pin 3-1 Loss on Rainbow Mermaids
|
Behind a solid performance from first baseman Blaze Alexander, the Portland Evergreens defeated the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 3-1. Alexander went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs for the Evergreens. The win was credited to Vicente Durango in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Chris Holland took the loss. Portland is in second place in the Premier League with a record of 22-14.
Alexander had an important at-bat with a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the third, when he hit a run-scoring double. The Evergreens went on to win.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Alexander told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
