Reserves Come Up Short at Tortolita
|
The Athletic Club KC Reserves and Tortolita Drummers provided some drama at Drummers Ballpark.
The Tortolita Drummers picked up a win at Drummers Ballpark, knocking off the Athletic Club KC Reserves, 6-5. On the mound for Tortolita was right-hander Cisco Pérez, who played a pivotal role in the win. In 6 innings, Pérez surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed 4 runs. Scott Thompson recorded the save for Tortolita, his 2nd of the season.
The Drummers got a big boost from center fielder Kolby Hay who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the sixth inning off Reserves hurler Oliver Vázquez. It was his 27th walk of the season and put Tortolita on top, 5-4.
"It's a mindset," said Pérez. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
The Drummers own a robust 64-17 mark.
