Flyers Fall Short, 3-2, at Salt Lake City
|
Pennsauken got a terrific performance from pitcher Fred Gunther, but it wasn't enough to beat the Salt Lake City Buzz. Salt Lake City won the Spirits Stadium contest, 3-2. Gunther was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings allowing 3 runs. Chris Holmes sewed up the save, his 9th. Salt Lake City is in 11th place in the Menard's AAA with a record of 25-49.
Making an impact for the home team was Cheong-hun Kang. In the bottom of the seventh, the 26-year old third baseman had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 3-0, Buzz.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Salt Lake City manager Manny Cuellar.
