Coyotes Stick Red Pandas with 8-4 Loss
|
The Hamilton Coyotes knocked off the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 8-4, at The Bamboo Forest. Elia Amberezzio was named player of the game for Hamilton. He hit 1 single and 1 double, while driving in 2 runs. Hamilton reliever Isaias Leurink picked up the win to move to 1-1. Geoff Stackhouse suffered the loss. Hansky Paillant earned the save for Hamilton, his 5th of the year.
Hamilton used the timely hitting of Don McGhee to capture the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Coyotes on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Amberezzio. "And not try to do too much."
Even with the win, the Coyotes have a dismal 23-47 record.
