Indianapolis got a terrific performance from pitcher Ignacio Uribe, but it wasn't enough to beat the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds. Ellenburg won the Dog Park in Ellenburg contest, 3-2. Uribe was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball. The Fighting Dachsunds saw their record improve to 31-34.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Al Grant came to bat in the bottom of the 12th. Facing Indianapolis pitcher Miguel Cervantes, he hit a 1-1 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Ellenburg on top, 3-2.
Grant said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
