Tom Bancroft did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Houston BC from losing, 7-5, to the Milton Dogfish Head at Milton Corner Tavern. Bancroft went 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 runs. The win was credited to Ricky O'Toole in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Francisco Guillén took the loss. Dave Hulton was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Milton took the lead in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, José Ocasio stroked a run-scoring double to make it 6-5, Dogfish Head.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Ocasio told the Milton Observer.
Milton now owns a record of 31-29.
