Oaks Beat Grey Wolves, 3-1
|
Kevin Nogilny never let the Grey Wolves get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Oaks to a 3-1 win. Nogilny went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 4-2. Oakland now sits in last place in the Premier League at 11-22.
With runs few and far between, the Oaks had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Oakland came in the bottom of the second inning, when left fielder Vonne Navarrete delivered a 2-run double. The double was hit off Kenny Aarnoutse and made the score 2-0, Oaks. Navarrete went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Oaks manager DAshley GoAs, "I like our chances."
