Men Topple Timber Hawks with Late Rally
|
Florida right fielder Ronald Anderson was a significant contributor in his team's 4-3 triumph over the Augusta Timber Hawks. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times for Florida. Rhett Abbott got credit for the win, improving to 5-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Joseph Merle earned the save for Florida, his 13th of the year.
Anderson had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 0-2 fastball from Luis Oropeza, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Men a 4-3 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Anderson.
"I felt good up there," said Anderson. "I saw the ball well."
The Men raised their record to 24-29.
