Flyers Stay Hot, Beat Buzz

Maverick Handley pitched well, but his team, the Salt Lake City Buzz, still dropped a 3-2 decision to the Pennsauken Flyers at Spirits Stadium. Fred Gunther was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 1 run on 3 hits, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. The third-place Flyers now have a 5-game winning streak.
The Buzz had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Flyers going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 30-year old left fielder Arana Sashi came to the plate. Sashi hit a solo home run on a 1-1 fastball from Salt Lake City hurler Maverick Handley. It was Sashi's 3rd home run of the year.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Sashi said.
