Toepfer Dazzles in Northern Virginia Win
|
The first-place Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids welcomed New Orleans to Atlantica.
Noe Toepfer pitched a gem in leading Northern Virginia to a 3-1 victory over the New Orleans Voodoo. Brewster Warble got credit for the save for Northern Virginia. It was his 8th of the year.
Toepfer dominated for Northern Virginia, raising his record to 4-0. New Orleans hitters had few good at-bats against the left-hander, who scattered 3 hits over 8 innings while striking out 6.
"I like our moxie," said Rainbow Mermaids manager David Lister.
