Silver Sox Topple 84s with Late Rally
|
Chicago shortstop Melvin Thomas played a vital role in his team's 5-4 triumph over Greenville. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times for Chicago. The win was credited to Surrealiste Zhejna in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Gunnar Hoglund took the loss. Shang-de Fu got credit for the save for Chicago. It was his 8th of the year.
Thomas had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the seventh inning, when he hit a double. The Silver Sox went on to win.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Thomas told the Chicago Observer.
Chicago, at 15-16, occupies 5th place in the Premier League.
