Victory Pushes Flyers Record to 17-16
|
Pennsauken starter Vincent O'Higgin put a stranglehold on the Salt Lake City offense. The right-hander had complete command of his screwball in leading the Flyers to a 4-1 win. O'Higgin picked up the win for Pennsauken, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. Willis Pittman finished to wrap up his 2nd save.
Raúl Moreno, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth. That's when he connected on a fastball from Tom DeHart for a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season put Pennsauken in front, 3-0.
In comments to the Pennsauken Chronicle, Moreno admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
The Flyers saw their record improve to 17-16.
