Drummers Win at Augusta, 6-2
|
The Tortolita Drummers picked up a win at Timber Hawks Ballpark, knocking off the Augusta Timber Hawks, 6-2. Starting pitcher Allen Werner was an essential part of his team's success. The winning pitcher was Werner, now 4-0. He tossed 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. Tortolita, now 14-4, has played well in the early going.
Eisse Cals put Tortolita in front, 6-1, when he hit a 3-run home run off Sean Halls in the top of the third. It was his 1st home run of the season.
"I thought we played a nice game," Werner told the Tortolita Daily. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
