Rainbow Mermaids Prevail, 2-1, Over Philadelphia 1776
|
In a tight game between the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids and the Philadelphia 1776 BC, pitcher Noe Toepfer was terrific on the mound. The Northern Virginia left-hander was named the player of the game in Northern Virginia's 2-1 win. Northern Virginia has now won 3 straight, while the BC have lost 3 in a row.
Northern Virginia took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, designated hitter Jason Schneider hit a 2-run home run that electrified the crowd.
"We scored one run," said Philadelphia 1776 manager Josh Swain. "You're not gonna get a lot of Ws scoring just one run."
