Tight Tilt Goes to Drummers, 3-2
|
The Tortolita Drummers got a stellar effort from pitcher Cisco Pérez, helping Tortolita score a 3-2 win over the visiting Houston BC. Tortolita reliever Robbie Baxter picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Enrique Arrabal was saddled with the loss. Anderson O'Mara earned the save for Tortolita, his 1st of the year.
Tsuneari Hirano broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the seventh with a run-scoring walk. It put the Drummers in front, 3-2. For the game, Hirano went 2-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
"If we keep winning the close games," Hirano said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
Tortolita, now 2-0, has gotten their season off to a good start.
