Knights Get Close Win Over Cattlemen
The Kingston Township Knights faced a tough opponent in Ft. Worth pitcher Armando Romano, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Cloverdale Legion Park by a final score of 5-2. Romano went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Kingston Township reliever Mitchell Atwell was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Gil Brown. John Riggleman recorded his 6th save for Kingston Township.

Had Alfredo Cardenas not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Cardenas hit a 2-run triple. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Knights.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Cardenas said after the game.

Kingston Township, now 10-18, holds 10th place in the Third League.
