Extra-Inning Win by Knights over Cattlemen
|
The Kingston Township Knights knocked off the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 6-4, at The Cattle Pen. Daniel Maldonado, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Kingston Township won. The shortstop slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Kingston Township reliever Morris Prinkey was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Jack Buyse took the loss for Ft. Worth. John Riggleman recorded his 3rd save for Kingston Township.
The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Maldonado delivered big-time for Kingston Township, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off Jack Buyse. The game-changing hit put the Knights on top, 6-4.
In postgame comments to the Kingston Township Observer, Maldonado said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The Knights, with just their 4th win so far in 2038, have yet to catch fire.
