Knights Solve Cattlemen, 4-2
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Kingston Township Knights got the win.
Kingston Township rode a decent outing from starter Greguorio Espora to victory over the Ft. Worth Cattlemen at The Cattle Pen. The final score was 4-2. In 8.1 innings, Espora surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. John Riggleman, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
The Knights grabbed the lead in the top of the fifth. With one out, Marc Ben hit a solo home run off Armando Romano, putting Kingston Township in front, 3-1. For Ben, it was his 1st home run of the season.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Ben said.
The Knights have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 3rd win in 10 games.
