The Boston Patriots topped the Philadelphia 1776 BC, 7-5, with designated hitter Temaki Yuka playing a big role. Yuka went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Patriots in the win. Boston reliever Tae-ho Ch'oe picked up the win to move to 1-1. Will Hoffman suffered the loss. Earning his 1st save of the year was Elton Coalan.
Yuka had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Will Hoffman, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Patriots a 7-4 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Yuka.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Yuka told the Boston Daily.
Boston now has a 3-game win streak.
