Voodoo Lose to Battery, 5-3
|
The Voodoo Lounge was the site of a competitive game between the New Orleans Voodoo and Charleston Battery.
Charleston Battery starter Tony Alfonso was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the New Orleans Voodoo, 5-3. Alfonso, the winner, moves to 4-1. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 5 walks. Kenete Daku locked down his 4th save.
The result might have been different for Charleston, had it not been for Mike Case, the 27-year old first baseman . Case stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Charleston up, 5-0. For the game, he had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"We take it day by day here," said Case, "and today was a good one for us."
The 7th-place Battery now have a win-loss record of 10-12.
