The Phoenix Hotspur beat the San Mateo Dirty Reds, 11-3, at Chase Field. Tadayoshi Watanabe was recognized as player of the game for his performance. He was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5. The 30-year old first baseman was a menace to San Mateo all day. With the win, Phoenix has a record of 50-53. San Mateo falls to 54-49.
Watanabe came through with some timely hitting for Phoenix. With the score 1-0 in the bottom of the third and two down, Watanabe hit a first pitch fastball for a 2-run double. His 20th double of the season made it 2-1, Phoenix.
