Evergreens Top Voodoo, 5-1

Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Syed Sarkar, the Portland Evergreens defeated the New Orleans Voodoo, 5-1. Sarkar went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times for the Evergreens. Robert Smalls got the win, improving to 1-3. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 9 hits and 1 run, while striking out 3 and walking 0. Earning his 5th save for Portland was Raúl Romero.
Félix Castellanos was a prime factor in the win for the Evergreens. In the bottom of the fourth with two out, the 27-year old right fielder hit a run-scoring double. He went 1 for 4 with a double.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Castellanos said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The Voodoo fall to 9-12 and continue their lackluster start in 2038.
