Buser Helps Phoenix Outscore Thunder Bay
The Phoenix Hotspur topped the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 13-10, with designated hitter Valerius Buser playing a big role. Buser was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5 for the Hotspur in the win. Phoenix reliever Rust Cohle was the winner. His record is now 1-10. Eduardo Flores took the loss. Nees Stroo got the save, his 19th in 20 chances.

Buser had a game-changing double in the top of the ninth. On a 2-0 sinker from Eduardo Flores, he banged a run-scoring double to right-center, giving the Hotspur a 11-10 lead. It was the 17th double of the year for Buser.

Thunder Bay manager Scott Williams expressed his frustration after the game: "That many runs and it still wasn't enough?"

Phoenix is now 49-53, Thunder Bay 52-50.
