Coeur Continue Skid Thanks to McCoy, Dirty Reds
|
Getting a good performance from right fielder Daniel McCoy, the San Mateo Dirty Reds defeated the St. Louis Coeur, 5-2. McCoy went 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Dirty Reds. Urs Ehles nailed down his 11th save. The current losing streak for St. Louis has reached 4 games.
McCoy contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for San Mateo in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, McCoy took a cutter from Alberto Álvarez and stroked the home run to right. His 14th home run of the season allowed the Dirty Reds to leap in front, 2-1.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said McCoy.
