Hotspur Lose to Shredders in Walk Off
|
The The Hollywood Bowl faithful were treated to an exciting walk-off win.
The Hollywood Shredders defeated the Phoenix Hotspur, 4-3, at The Hollywood Bowl. Hollywood left fielder Kanko Umaba was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 3 walks. Hollywood is now 65-32, 11 games up in the Silver League.
Hollywood took a 4-3 lead on Divine Diablo's 71st hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Diablo hit in the bottom of the 12th, left Phoenix pitcher Rust Cohle visibly frustrated.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Hollywood manager Bill Cheese.
