Chicago beat Northern Virginia at Atlantica, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Oliver Rodríguez, who earned player of the game honors. In 8 innings, Rodríguez surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 4 runs. Shang-de Fu locked down his 6th save.

Chicago shortstop Bren Spillane contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball into left-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 17th hit of the season and put the Silver Sox ahead, 5-0.
