Dirty Reds Come Back Late to Top White Walkers
|
The Dirty Reds had to overcome a fine performance from Buffalo pitcher Juan Guillén to grab a 3-2 win at Lang Park. Guillén allowed 1 earned run over 7 innings. The win was credited to Matt Digby in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Ron Manning took the loss. Urs Ehles earned the save for San Mateo, his 9th of the year.
Daniel McCoy tagged a home run off Ron Manning in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run blast put the Dirty Reds on top, 3-2. In all, McCoy had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said McCoy. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
The Dirty Reds move to 50-44 with the win, while the White Walkers drop to 47-47.
