Sylvain Richard was a calming influence out of the Quebec City Baby Blues bullpen this season.

His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 20-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the USSL Rookie Reliever of the Year Award for 2037.

The Brampton, Canada native won the award with 1 save in 35 relief appearances, 138 strikeouts in 71.2 innings and a record of 9-1 to go with his 1.76 ERA.

He received 8 first place votes out of a possible 10. Nelson Qudrio of the Amarillo Submarinos finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Cakaraka Subramanya of the Tulsa Otters finished third.
