SAA Names Cruz Outstanding Pitcher Award Winner Sunday, October 11th, 2037 Jesús Cruz was really special this season. You could feel the electricity in the air every time he took the mound for the Irving Blue Sox. Today he was honored by his selection as the 2037 USSL Double A Outstanding Pitcher Award recipient. He started 18 games, logging 114.1 innings, 6 wins, 4 losses, 110 strikeouts and a 2.44 ERA. Cruz gave up 88 hits, while walking 24 and holding opponents to a .206 average. He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Manny Burgos of the Yakima Hops finished second in voting, while Aurelio Ortíz of the Yakima Hops finished third.
