Farmers End Gotaas's Streak
Friday, August 7th, 2037
It was the best of both worlds for the Lancaster Farmers today at Chesapeake Grounds, as they defeated the Chesapeake Continentals 8-3 and also snapped Conor Gotaas's 21-game hitting streak. The 21-year-old Chesapeake right fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Gotaas, we just wanted to win the game," said Farmers skipper Luis Barroco. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Gotaas frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

Posting a .347 batting average to date, Gotaas has 3 home runs and 16 RBIs.
