Season Possibly Over for Kieran Long
Tuesday, August 18th, 2037
Akron closer Kieran Long could miss the remainder of the season because of a damaged elbow ligament. He exited yesterday's Olympia game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Long would be out 12-13 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

To date, Long has no saves. In 22 relief appearances he has tossed 48.2 innings, fanned 49 and given up 24 walks with 3 wins and 1 loss. The Akron reliever has recorded a 2.77 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .205 when he on the mound.
