It's a No-No for Flores Monday, August 10th, 2037 Fans at Atoms Field got a rare gift today as Eduardo Flores of the Atoms tossed a no-hitter against the Olympia Ogres. Although Flores did not appear to have his best stuff in the early innings, he turned masterful as the game went on, ultimately striking out 4 and walking 1 in a 12-0 Bethesda victory. "We had our chances in the first few innings when he was hittable, and we couldn't capitalize on them," Olympia manager Bob Thomas said later. "In the last four or five innings, he totally shut us down." In all, Flores faced only 28 batters. While getting into his groove, he was helped by several defensive gems. "I don't remember a better-pitched game," Atoms manager Raúl Méndez said. "And how about our defense today?" Flores has made 10 starts so far this year and put up a 4-2 won-lost record with a 2.83 ERA. In 54 innings he has allowed 34 hits, walked 19 and struck out 34. View Boxscore View Game Log |
