Augusta Reliever Named SAAA #1 Pitcher Tuesday, September 1st, 2037 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Alfredo Córdova, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Augusta Timber Hawks reliever, 24, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .219 average and walked away with the USSL Triple A Pitcher of the Month award for August. Córdova posted a 4-1 mark and a 2.78 ERA in no relief appearances. In 35.2 innings, he had no saves, 30 strikeouts, and 14 walks. So far this season Córdova has worked 89.2 innings in no relief appearances with 0 saves. He has dished out 70 strikeouts and walked 40 with a 8-6 mark and a 3.21 ERA. |
