ParksNRec Fear Worst, Rodríguez's Career Over Saturday, August 1st, 2037 The Pawnee ParksNRec clubhouse was subdued this afternoon after António Rodríguez was seriously injured throwing a pitch during the game against the Augusta Timber Hawks. Rodríguez was taken to a local hospital for examination. This morning, doctors confirmed the preliminary diagnosis of a torn rotator cuff. They said Rodríguez will undergo surgery in the near future. This type of injury, they said, will require extensive rehabilitation. For all intents and purposes, his career in baseball is over. It remains to be seen how Rodríguez's loss will affect the rest of the team. The ParksNRec owner, when reached for comment, said he planned to visit Rodríguez later today. "It's a sad day for us," he said. "We've lost a class individual. I hope that we can keep him in our organization in some capacity. António still has a lot to contribute to our baseball team." In season stats Rodríguez shows a 2-4 record in 10 games, 61.1 innings, 39 strikeouts and a 3.52 ERA. |
