Sugimoto Named Top Reliever for SL Sunday, November 1st, 2037 2037 was a year to remember for Yoriyoshi Sugimoto. The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids reliever was the owner of a 1.52 ERA this season over 47.1 innings of work. He made 37 relief appearances and had 6 saves, 62 strikeouts, 6 walks and a record of 4 wins and 1 loss. He's also now got some hardware, as the 30-year-old has been named the United States Silver League Reliever of the Year Award winner. "It's something I can tell my grandchildren some day, pretty special," he said. Roberto Silva of the D.C. Divided finished second in voting, while Russ Horne of the Phoenix Hotspur finished third. |
