Viceronte Hitless, Streak Ends at 20 Sunday, September 6th, 2037 It just wasn't Jacques Viceronte's day. The Mancelona Torch took the 2-0 win today over the Alameda Airmen, but the Airmen mound staff did what nobody else could -- they stopped the 20-game hitting streak of Torch center fielder Jacques Viceronte. "We might have focused a bit too much on stopping Viceronte," Alameda manager Harris Bailey commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Torch have other hitters and they did their job today." Viceronte on the season is batting .279 with 5 home runs. His totals include 44 RBIs and 52 runs scored. He has played in 96 games. |
