Duncan Twirls Jets to Shutout Win
Sunday, May 31st, 2037
Jesse Duncan of the Kennesaw Jets was on top of his game today.

The 23-year-old tantalized the Eugene Vandals with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest and came away with a 5-0 shutout.

"He had the changeup working," Eugene manager Travis Miller said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."

The Kennesaw hurler had 10 strikeouts, gave up no walks and surrendered 4 hits in his complete-game effort.

Duncan told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league."

"If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.

For the year Duncan has compiled a 2-0 record with a 3.54 ERA.
