Un-four-gettable: Ladd Hits for Cycle
Friday, May 8th, 2037
Travis Ladd punished the Idaho Falls Chukars today, leading the Bulls to a 11-7 win. In doing so, Ladd hit for the cycle, tagging the Chukars for 4 hits in 4 at-bats.
A player hitting a single, a double, a triple and a home run in the same game is one of the more unusual feats in professional baseball and typically happens only a couple times per season.
"Well, I didn't expect that to happen," the Belleville center fielder said after the game. "I got some great pitches and I hit their mistakes."
Ladd also had 3 RBI and 2 runs scored in the game at Idaho Falls Park.
Travis Ladd singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jose Jovellanos in the 5th, tripled in the 6th and hit a sac fly in the 8th.
This year Ladd has collected a .294 batting average to date with 5 hits in 17 at-bats, 4 RBIs, 1 home run and scored 2 times. He has played in 6 games.
